The hard drive has and will continue to enable the consumer electronics industry to greatly expand the capabilities of its products in both video and audio categories. Consumers have a great desire to control and manage all their content, and the hard drive allows us to provide this capability. As the size and the cost of the drives decline, we can expect even further advancements in storage. Satellite and cable operators are expanding their support for hard-drive features on set-top boxes, and many manufacturers like Thomson are offering those video products as well as hard-drive equipped audio devices that enable a consumer to carry an entire collection of CD music in the palm of his or her hand.
