It is a portable world and will continue to be more so. The only limitation for the traveling businessman or mobile teen is how many batteries and chargers they can carry, or for the manufactures to compact higher-capacity portable energy into smaller sizes. All battery categories are growing. Primary alkaline batteries still represent the lion's share of consumer usage. However, high-drain equipment utilizing LCD displays demand rechargeable lithium-ion or nickel-metal hydride batteries for performance efficiencies. People are becoming aware of the cost savings, performance and environmental benefits of using rechargeable batteries. Lenmar expects costs to decline as demand increases for high-capacity rechargeable batteries and high-speed chargers.
