CE Appeal Gets Younger & Younger
According to recently released report from the NPD Group, the average age that children begin using consumer electronics devices has decreased for the third consecutive year.
The survey discovered that the popularity of CE products such as portable digital media players, portable video games and digital cameras among younger children has helped drive the average age down to 6.7 years old - down slightly from 6.9 years old in 2006, but a huge jump form 8.1 years old in 2005, the year NPD Group began tracking ages.
The NPD study also reported that the total number of CE devices in a household has declined in the past two years, and the percentage of children with their own electronic devices has also fallen, even with electronics usage beginning at earlier ages.
