CE Firms MTI, Andrews to Merge
The retail merchandising firm MTI (Merchandising Technologies, Inc.) announced this week that it has merged with component distributor Andrews Electronics. The combined company will be known as MTI-Andrews Corporation.
“Working as one will allow us to leverage our respective strengths and to provide our clients with better service at every step in the supply chain,” MTI’s CEO Michael Cook said in a statement announcing the merger. He added that the two companies have often served the same client base.
MTI, based in Hillsboro, Ore., builds interactive displays for CE retailers, and says that six of the top seven CE retailers in the U.S. use its products. Andrews, founded nearly a century ago in Santa Clarita, Calif., supplies aftermarket parts and equipment. Its clients include Hitachi, JVC, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sharp and Sony.
