CE Survey Sees Smartphones, TVs as Top Products
The Consumer Electronics Association's annual survey of products customers want to buy has smartphones at the top of the list, followed by plasma flat-panel TVs and Blu-ray players.
According to CEA's 14th Annual Household CE Ownership and Market Potential Study, 46 percent of respondents plan to purchase a smartphone in the next 12 months, while 32 percent plan to buy a plasma TV. These were followed by Blu-ray players (26 percent), tablet computers (22 percent) and e-readers (19 percent.)
Tablets were the fastest-growing category over last year, followed by Blu-ray players.
