Proposals on Capitol Hill could tie the hands of the CE industry

For nearly seven years now, the industry has struggled with copyright protection in the digital age. Since the introduction of the Rio MP3 player and the dawn of peer-to-peer file sharing, the CE industry, the content industry and the consumer have fought to define how personal use rights be determined, and the government, for better or worse, has needed to step in on occasion. Retailers should pay heed, as the decisions of lawmakers can sometimes have a direct effect on the bottom line.
