The recently completed International CES was "the largest and most amazing CES in show history," the Consumer Electronics Association said in a press release Friday.
Official numbers aren't generally released until an official audit is completed months after the show, but CEA said in the release that the show included 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space featuring more than 3,600 exhibitors. The event also featured a record number of startup companies.
“This CES vastly exceeded our expectations. The show inspired and likely gave almost every attendee a sense that innovation will provide solutions to a range of global issues from the environment and agriculture to transportation, health and safety,” Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA, said in a statement.
