CEA Comments Against Lobbying Regulations
The Consumer Electronics Association this week formally filed a comment opposing proposed ethics rules that would limit gifts from registered lobbyists.
“The Obama Administration’s proposed new lobbying rules have the effect of criminalizing efforts by government officials – and especially Executive Branch employees – to learn about business trends by attending trade shows," CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement.
"There is no legitimate, rational basis for this prohibition. CEA urges that this prohibition, and the proposed rule as a whole, be abandoned by the OGE.
