CEA Congratulates FCC Nominees
The Consumer Electronics Association, which earlier this year awarded its Digital Patriots award to all five commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), applauded the appointment of two new commissioners.
President Obama Tuesday nominated Jessica Rosenworcel and Ajit Pai to the five-member commission. Rosenworcel, a Democrat, and Pai, a Republican, replace the departing Michael Copps and Meredith Attwell Baker. Both nominees will require Senate confirmation.
“We applaud President Obama for nominating Jessica Rosenworcel and Ajit Pai to serve as FCC Commissioners," CEA President/CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement. "Ms. Rosenworcel and Mr. Pai each have a deep understanding of technology issues and will be valuable assets to the Commission, the industry and the public. Once confirmed by the Senate, we look forward to working with both of these distinguished individuals to restore our nation’s innovation economy through public policies that help grow the technology sector.”
