CEA on Election: "A Renewed Sense of Optimism"
The Consumer Electronics Association Wednesday proclaimed "a renewed sense of optimism" following Tuesday's midterm election, in which the Republican Party claimed the majority in the U.S. Senate while widening its majority in the House of Representatives.
“For 2015, we hope Congress’ newly-elected members will work to move beyond the gridlock that has prevented the Congress from dealing with our most pressing issues. The growing debt, out of control entitlements, a broken tax system and immigration reform are real issues which we must resolve for the next generation. Our nation wants and deserves more from our elected officials," president and CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement.
Shapiro also called on the Senate, prior to the seating of the new Congress, to pass the patent troll legislation that already made it out of the House during the current Congress.
