The Consumer Electronics Association has announced the Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will be honored with the first-ever Innovation Champions Award. Gov. McAuliffee will attend the annual Digital Patriots Dinner April 14 in Washington.
The award, CEA said, is meant to honor states with "innovation-friendly policies."
This year's honorees will have a decidedly Virginia feel, with Digital Patriots honors going to Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and entrepreneur Steve Case, who was CEO of AOL during the period it was located in Northern Virginia, which is also the home base of CEA itself.
