CEA Honors Four With Technology Awards
The Consumer Electronics Association Tuesday announced that it is honoring three industry technologists with its prestigious CEA Technology Leadership Awards, and fourth with the CEA Technology Achievement Award.
The honorees receiving Technology Leadership Awards include Wayne Luplow, the vice president of LG Electronics' Zenith R&D subsidiary; Mark Eyer, director of systems for Sony Electronics' Technology Standards Office and James Tranchina, the vice president of engineering at Audiovox. The Technology Achievement Award went to Jon Richardson, engineer for EchoStar Technologies Corp.
"CEA’s Technology and Standards Awards, now in their fourth year, honor leaders who drive innovation in the consumer electronics industry,” Brian Markwalter, senior vice president of research and standards for CEA, said as part of the announcement. “These designers, developers and engineers ensure that innovative technologies make the transition from an interesting idea on a company whiteboard to a new product that will excite consumers and spur demand.”
