CEA Industry Forum - Day Two
The CEA Industry Forum, held at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel from October 15 - 18, continued on Tuesday with a variety of panels and discussions focusing on a variety of aspects of the CE industry. The “In Search of...Understanding How Consumers Use the Internet to Research and Shop for CE Products” panel concluded that friends and family are still the top source of recommendations for consumers. HDNet Chairman and President Mark Cuban sat down for a discussion with CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro about user-generated content, copyright protection, the networked home and, of course, HDTV. CEA’s Small Business Council gave out advice on how to attract and retain “Gen Y” top talent, focusing on the latest working generation’s appreciation of being appreciated. A supply chain discussion led by CEA Vice President, international, Elizabeth Hyman encompassed such topics as port security and terrorism. In the evening, CEA inducted 12 new members into its Hall of Fame.
