CEA Launches DTV Education For Moms
The Consumer Electronics Association this week announced a program that’s about converting in more ways than one. The “Convert Your Mom” initiative is aimed at getting baby boomers to get their mothers, as well as other older relatives, to get on board with digital TV ahead of the analog shutoff in February.
For the occasion, CEA has signed up one of America’s most famous moms: Florence Henderson, who played mother-of-six Carol Brady on “The Brady Bunch” in the 1970s.
The campaign will begin in May with a series of interviews that Henderson will conduct, and will also feature a downloadable guide to the transition. It is meant to let seniors know what their options are in dealing with the transition, and letting them know about both converter box programs and affordable new digital TVs.
