CEA: More Customers Get Info From Devices Than Employees
According to a Consumer Electronics Association study released this week, more than 58 percent of customers who own mobile device would "prefer to look up information on their devices while shopping, rather than talk to store employees." The findings come from CEA's Enhancing the In-Store CE Retail Experience Using Mobile Devices.
The study also found that the difference is more pronounced among male customer and among those aged 25-44. Also, 62 percent of those surveyed found that they "perceive the information they gather via their mobile device as more beneficial than the information available in-store via product displays or sales literature."
“Mobile devices have significantly shifted consumers’ shopping behavior,” Steve Koenig, director of industry analysis, CEA, said as part of the announcement.
“Retailers are increasingly focusing on delivering a complete consumer shopping experience and mobile devices are now a vital piece of that puzzle.”
