CEA, NAB Launch Transition Contest
The Consumer Electronics Association and National Association of Broadcasters on Thursday announced its latest DTV transition education effort, and this time it’s a contest.
The “Rabbit Ears Pioneers” contest is meant to find the most interesting stories and memories from those who still watch over-the-air TV, such as when they bought the TV, how long they’ve been watching it, and their favorite memories of old TV shows.
Both the “pioneers” and those who nominate them are eligible to win prizes, including the grand prize of a state-of-the-art home entertainment center. Others will win digital converter boxes; the grand prize winner will be announced in November, at the start of the 100-day countdown to February’s analog shutoff.
