CEA: Online CE Spending Reaches $22.5 billion
Online spending on consumer electronics products reached $22.5 billion in the last 12 months, accounting for a full 14 percent of overall CE spending. That’s according to statistics released by the Consumer Electronics Association, in a report called “The State of CE Retail.”
The 14 percent figure represents a jump from 5 percent in 2005, CEA said. The survey also found that 89 percent of online shoppers rated their shopping experience as “good” or “excellent,” as opposed to 80 percent for in-store.
The survey was conducted throughout November of 2007 by CEA Market Research. It can be purchased at www.ebrain.org
