CEA Praises Signing of Free Trade Agreements
The Consumer Electronics Association, which has been long been pushing for the ratification of several free trade agreements, is praising President Obama for signing agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea last week.
"The Congressional passage and now Presidential signing of these free trade agreements is the first major action in five years on free trade. It tells the world that the U.S. is back in business and wants to remain a global player," Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said in a statement.
"Almost every developed country has signed trade agreements these past few years and the U.S. competitive position has slipped as we have paid higher tariffs and become more isolationist."
