The Consumer Electronics Association doesn't often find itself on the same side of political questions as HBO comedian and host John Oliver. They have very different views on net neutrality, for example, as well as economic policy and the general role of business in American life.
However, a segment on Oliver's show Sunday was very much in CEA's wheelhouse- a long screed against "patent trolls," which are long a CEA scourge. CEA even shared the video from Oliver's show on its official blog:
"John Oliver hosts a weekly recap news show on Sunday nights that mixes real–world issues, investigative journalism and sarcasm-laden humor. Somehow, he does the seemingly impossible – educate us on real problems plaguing people around the country, while at the same time making us laugh out loud.
