CEA: Users Want to Get Greener
More and more technology buyers are interested in making greener choices in the products they purchase. That's the conclusion of a study released this week by the Consumer Electronics Association.
According to the study, titled "Going Green: An Examination of the Green Trend and What it Means to Consumers and the CE Industry," green considerations may not have overtaken price or features as the determining factor behind purchases, but it is becoming more and more of a consideration for consumers.
“Consumers are now beginning to associate terms like recycling and energy efficiency with consumer electronics products,” CEA senior director of market research Tim Herbert said as part of the release of the study. “As they seek out those attributes in the purchasing process, there is enormous opportunity for manufacturers and retailers to educate customers about green products and how purchasing decisions can impact the environment.”
