Britton said YouthStream is also negotiating retail sponsorship of the event. "We're talking to a couple of different people," he said last week. "We don't have anything signed up but we're talking about two different levels. In the first, we're thinking about a retailer sponsoring the whole thing, where we could drive students to retail with activities going on, such as coupons or sweepstakes. We would custom design it with the retailer.
"Or we could even do it with certain retailers, tying into certain markets, and perhaps splitting (the sponsorship) up a bit."
Dennis Roche, chief operating officer of YouthStream, added, "We're very interested in creating a retail partnership, but the dynamic has been getting involved with the manufacturers first."
