CEA: Confidence Hits New Low
CEA's monthly measure of consumer confidence in the overall economy has reached its lowest level in the survey's more than four-year history.
The CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE) fell to 156.8, a two-point drop from last year, said as part of the announcement. "The ensuing European debt crisis and the news of additional quantitative easing have consumers mired in uncertainty."
CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) also dropped two and a half points to 81.9.
