CEDIA has added four new members to its Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 term. The new elected directors include Melanie Malcom, who was elected to fill the open EMEA position, and Jamie Briesemeister, Bill Skaer, and Amanda Wildman who were chosen to fill positions across the rest of the world.
"The collection of skills and experiences our board leadership brings to bear is exceptional and the four elected directors will answer the call," said CEDIA Global President and CEO Tabatha O'Connor. "As the industry, organization, and needs of membership continue to evolve, we’re excited to have a board of directors that can respond and take action that moves us to the next level."
Melanie Malcom is the co-founder and co-owner of Leeds, Yorkshire, UK-based Bespoke Home Cinemas where she directs two events: Yorkshire Ladies Links and Yorkshire Choice Awards. Malcom joined the CEDIA EMEA Board in 2016 and played a part in CEDIA’s global alignment process. She will close out her current term at the end of the year before stepping into her elected director term.
Jamie Briesemeister is the CEO and co-founder of Integration Controls in St. Louis, MO. She frequently shares her knowledge of the industry at conferences, seminars, panel discussions, and presentations, and also offers Continuing Education Units to architects and designers. Briesemeister is a CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI), a member of the Industry Relations Advisory Council, and a previous chair of the Professional Development Advisory Council.
Bill Skaer is senior managing partner of Bill Skaer and Associates LLC in Mesquite, Texas, USA. Skaer has received the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award, the Volunteer of the Year award, and he was named a CEDIA fellow. He has served as a CEDIA volunteer and a seven-term previous board member throughout his two decades as CEDIA Ethics Commitee chairman. Skaer is a former U.S. Air Force management analyst, and currently owns his own technology integration company.
Amanda Wildman is an owner of TruMedia in Ada, Michigan, the current chair of CEDIA Professional Development Advisory Council, and a member of the CEDIA Workforce Development Working Group. She holds a CEDIA Outreach Instructor certification (COI) and has taught courses at CEDIA Expo as part of the Business Working Group. She is also on the board of the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids where she served as secretary and associate member vice president.
New board members join the following individuals who will continue their service in 2020: Rob Sutherland, Dave Humphries, Peter Aylett, Michael Cogbill, Albert Mizrahi, and Joe Whitaker.
