CEDIA Expo Launches TechStarter FIVE for Aspiring Brands
CEDIA Expo has launched a new program focused on providing exposure for up-and-coming brands. TechStarter will be conducted in a “Shark Tank” style manner where Innovation Alley exhibitors will pitch their business model to c-suite executives. Exhibitors who demonstrate the most business potential will be selected to be one of the “TechStarter FIVE.”
All contestants will be judged by residential technology leaders: Tabatha O’Connor, CEO, CEDIA; Alex Capecelatro, CEO and founder, Josh.AI; and Hagai Feiner, founder and CEO, Access Networks. The judges will be looking for “a strong current business approach and a vision for the future of their product or service” as they roam the show floor.
Once judging and deliberation conclude, the chosen TechStarter FIVE will be presented with a dedicated promotion from CEDIA Expo channels, signage in their booth, interviews with 3 select media outlets attending the show, and an appearance on the TechStarter FIVE Q&A panel on the CEDIA Expo SmartStage. The Q&A panel will kick off on Friday, Sept. 13 from 12:15-1:15 p.m. led by Walt Zerbe, Sr. Director of Technology & Standards, CEDIA.
“CEDIA Expo aims to be a spring board for our new-to-industry brands exhibiting within Innovation Alley,” says Brian Pagel, senior vice president, Emerald Expositions. “The TechStarter program will introduce the newest brands to the brightest minds within our industry and give them the platform to make their innovations successful.”
