CEDIA Opens Nominations for 2020-2021 Board of Directors
CEDIA has officially opened up nominations for its 2020-2021 Board of Directors. Those chosen to represent CEDIA’s Board will play an integral role in the direction of the industry. They will also oversee the association’s activities and represent the residential technology industry on a daily basis.
"Being part of the CEDIA board has been one of the best experiences I have had both personally and professionally - it is a great honor to be part of casting the strategic vision for the association," said David Humphries, CEDIA Chairman. "We are always looking for new leaders to help shape the future of the association. I would encourage every member to consider nominating someone they think would represent the industry and the association well."
This year, CEDIA is looking to fill seven spots on its Board of Directors: four elected positions and three appointed positions. Those interested in becoming an elected director must be a Home Technology Professional member as well as an employee of a member company. These individuals are then vetted on by the Governance Committee, proposed as candidates for the global membership, and voted in by CEDIA members. The four vacancies are to be filled by one CEDIA member in the EMEA region and three global members.
All other member types (manufacturers, service proviers, etc.) and other Home Technology Professionals are eligible for an appointed director position. The CEDIA Governance Committee assesses what skills are needed, and recommends candidates whose skills most closely match what they are looking for. Of the three open positions, one is to be filled by a member of the EMEA region, and two should be from the rest of the global membership.
Nominations will be accepted until Aug. 2, and voting will run from Sept.10 to Oct. 22. Appointment of the elected Board members will begin in January 2020.
