CEDIA Wrap-Up - Newest in Audio
Audio innovations in home theater, CD recording and home entertainment networking were big topics at the 1999 CEDIA Expothe largest one yet. On tap here are some of the latest products introduced.
Atlantic Technology introduced its latest THX Ultra In-Wall speakers for home theater systems, the System 20 LCR front satellite and the System 20 SR dipole/bipole surround. Adding an Atlantic THX certified sealed enclosure subwoofer will complete a full multi-channel system.
Acoustic Research displayed the Hi-RES Series with six three-way tower speakers with side-firing subwoofers ($900-$2,800 a pair), two two-way bookshelf speakers ($380 or $500 a pair), two powered subwoofers ($799 or $999 each) and two center-channel speakers ($370 or $600 each). The series features plasma-transferred, diamond-hardened, one-inch titanium dome tweeters and MagAlloy driver technology that uses a dual-design configuration, combined copper and aluminum voice coils for greater accuracy.
