An independent audit has confirmed that the 2012 International CES broke records for both exhibitors and international attendance, the Consumer Electronics Association announced Tuesday.
The audit, conducted by Veris Consulting, found that the event drew 3,319 exhibitors and 35,734 international attendees, which represented increases of 22 and 13 percent, respectively, over the 2011 totals. The overall attendance was 156,153 industry professionals.
“The 2012 International CES was the largest in show history and was bursting with innovation as the world’s most important technology event,” Karen Chupka, senior vice president, events and conferences for CEA, said as part of the announcement. “These record-breaking audit results confirm that CES continues to be the must-attend event that unites the global technology industry, including Fortune 500 executives, retail buyers, content producers, entertainment executives, venture capitalists, engineers, government officials and media from every corner of the world.”
