Char-Broil Introduces Connected Smokers for Outdoor Cooking Enthusiasts
The smart home tech frenzy is starting to make its way into the backyard. Char-Broil, one of the oldest outdoor cooking companies around rolled out its new SmartChef technology, which it integrated into two new WiFi-enabled smokers.
The Simple Smoker ($299) and the Digital Electric Smoker ($399) use the SmartChef tech and sync over WiFi to connect to the Char-Broil app. From there, users will be able to control their smokers in a variety of ways that will help to simplify the cooking process.
"Although smoked food is universally loved, the complexity and time commitment of the smoking process has always been a barrier," Brendan Anderson, Vice President, Marketing and Product Management of Char-Broil, said in a statement. "The two new connected Char-Broil SmartChef smokers make it easier than ever to make perfectly cooked smoked meals without being time consuming. We want to inspire a new generation of smoker consumers who want to monitor their smoker, anytime and anywhere on their connected devices."
