Circuit City Announces Finalists in Firehouse Contest
Circuit City has announced ten finalists in its firedog Across America contest, which was launched earlier this year in order to honor firehouses for their service to their communities. The finalists were chosen on the strength of nominating essays.
From over 5,000 essays, the ten winners were firehouses from Chesapeake, Va.; Ashland, Va.; Antioch, Calif.; Dover, N.H.; Keeseville, N.Y.; Levittown, Pa.; Reminderville, Ohio; Breezy Point, N.Y.; El Cajon, Calif. and Biloxi, Miss. Each finalist will receive $20,000 in equipment from Circuit City, while each nominating essay writer will be awarded $10,000 in a home “techover.” A winner will be chosen by a vote on the firedog Web site, with an announcement coming on May 14.
The launch of the contest earlier this year coincided with the launch of firedog’s new Web site.
