Circuit City Drops Some Installation Jobs
Circuit City late last week let go of over 100 employees in its firedog installation division, the Richmond Times newspaper reported.
The cuts, which represent less than 4 percent of firedog’s workforce, are in Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Texas, and the company’s home state of Virginia, and are mostly regarding cable TV installation. The cuts are effective in July, and some employees will have a chance at reassignment within the company.
Circuit City had announced a cut of 67 firedog jobs in March.
