Circuit City Fights FCC Fines
Circuit City made a filing Tuesday to get out of paying its $712,000 fine to the federal government in regards to mislabeling of analog televisions, the AP reported.
In an FCC filing, the retailer said that the FCC lacks jurisdiction in the matter, and that public comment was never heard on the issue. Therefore, it asks that the fine either be rescinded or reduced.
“Circuit City made extensive and good faith efforts to comply with this unprecedented regulation despite lack of notice or baseline for compliance,” the filing said.
