Circuit City Sued by Ex-Employees
Circuit City has been sued by a group of ex-employees who say the now-defunct retailer failed to give them sufficient notice before they were terminated. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch the suit, filed by New York law firm Kantrowitz Goldhamer & Graifman PC, is awaiting class action status.
The workers say they were entitled to payments under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which they did not receive.
Also last week, the company received approval from a bankruptcy court to sell off its Canadian stores.
