Circuit City Begins Going-Out-of-Business Sales
With Circuit City announcing the closing of 154 U.S. stores, the troubled retail giant has begun going-out-of-business sales at most of them. Over $300 million worth of merchandise, the company says, will be available at discounts of up to 30 percent.
Products on sale will include TV and home entertainment products, potable music players, cameras, gaming devices and more. The company has hired liquidation firms Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers Group to handle the process.
"This sale comes at a perfect time for everyone to enjoy large savings on many of their holiday gift purchases," Hilco's president and CEO, Michael Keefe, said in a statement. "Consumers who arrive at the start of the sale will certainly have the best selection of products from which to choose and will find great values on everything in the store."
