Circuit City Launches Green Site
On the occasion of Earth Day, Circuit City on Friday launched a new Web site devoted to helping its customers go green. On the site, Circuit City customers are given suggestions on “Five simple ways to go a little green,” with answers that include recycling, trading in old products for new ones, unplugging electronics when not in use, using rechargeable batteries and buying products with the Energy Star rating.
The site also includes several facts, citing the Department of Energy, about energy waste.
The company’s unveiling of the site coincides with the results of a customer survey commissioned by the company with the help of Decision Analyst. The survey found that many customers are interested in electronics that use less power, but that only 28 percent of those questioned currently recycle their products.
