Circuit City Names Besanko as CFO
Circuit City announced Tuesday that it has named Bruce H. Besanko its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Besanko, who comes to Circuit City after two years with Yankee Candle Co., will assume his new duties on July 30.
The 48-year-old Besanko is also a former vice president of finance for Best Buy, a position he held from 2002 until 2005, and has also worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co.
According to an 8-K report filed by the company with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Besanko will receive a salary of $500,000, in addition to a $400,000 bonus and other benefits. Besanko will work out of the company’s Richmond, Va., headquarters, and report directly to Circuit City CEO Philip J. Schoonover.
