A survey conducted by Decision Analyst, Inc. on behalf of Circuit City claims that college students begin shopping for school-related CE products as early as two months or more before classes begin.
The study also focused on the pervasiveness of computers on college campuses, citing 98 percent of 2,200 surveyed students who say they use a computer and 90 percent who say it helps them get good grades. 80 percent said they would prefer a notebook computer to a desktop.
Said Elliot Becker, vice president for technology at Circuit City, “There’s no question that college students use their computers day in and day out, not only for academics and communications, but also for music and videogames. But computers are only the tip of the iceberg.”
