Accessorize: Product Returns and Revving Up for the Holiday Sales Season
It seems like summer was just starting and now its fall and already time to start gearing up for the holiday sales season. It's no question that CE gifts are a top item for holiday shoppers with three in five spending more or the same on CE gifts last year as in 2008. The 2009 holiday season ended with 8 percent of consumers reporting they made a CE product return.
This is up slightly from 4 percent in 2008, but is in line with the 7 percent historical rate of return for CE products. In preparation for this year's holiday season, retailers and manufacturers should pay attention to the suggestions above to help keep a low rate of product returns for 2010.

Returns aren't the only things that happen in the CE space after the holidays. After receiving CE gifts, attachment purchases are often made including headphones, cables, furniture, content and services, all which generally command high margins and can help add to your revenue stream.
