Comcast Adds Skype, Intel-Based Boxes
Comcast and Skype announced an agreement Tuesday in which the video calling service will be available for HD calling for Comcast subscribers.
Also Tuesday, Comcast announced that it is using Intel-based set-top boxes for the "next generation" of Xfinity cable. Both moves were announced at the Cable Show in Chicago.
“Our unique relationship with Skype not only will change how our customers interact with their TV, but also will create new and meaningful ways to bring our customers closer to the people they care about,” Neil Smit, President of Comcast's Cable vision, said as part of the announcement.
