Rollout Finally Begins For Comcast/TiVo
Customers of Comcast’s cable services who want something more than the provider’s in-house DVR service are in luck- provided they live in New England.
After a two-year delay, Comcast last week began rolling out boxes that offer TiVo’s services as a premium option, the Associated Press reported Friday. The service is being offered first in New England, and will be rolled out slowly beyond there, a Comcast executive told the AP. The rollout is being offered to “test” customers and will debut among the general population in the coming weeks.
Acccording to the Hollywood Reporter, Comcast will be able to make some boxes into TiVo-ready just by virture of a software upgrade.
