Harman Reorganizes Divisions
Harman announced Wednesday that it will reorganize its division, with the Automotive and Consumer Divisions reorganized into "Lifestyle" and "Infotainment."
The Lifestyle division will include the AKG, Harman Kardon, JBL, Mark Levinson, Infinity, and Lexicon brands, and focus, the company said, on car, home, and multimedia audio. The Infotainment division will consist of the navigation, hands free telephony, Internet and wireless connectivity technology categories. The Infotainment division, the company said, "will benefit from a focused management structure that will further improve operating profitability."
The company's Professional Division will remain unaffected. The purpose of the changes, Harman said, is to "unlock earnings growth and to better align with consumer lifestyle preferences."
