CompUSA Gets Interactive With New Store Concept
CompUSA has brought retail into the future at a new concept store in Miami, giving consumers access to online information about each product, right in the store.
As part of the concept, which the company called "Retail 2.0" and plans to expand to other stores, products such as TVs, computers and monitors are connected directly to the Web, allowing consumers to access information about the products. Additional computer stations are available elsewhere in the store, while the store will also hold weekend workshops that will be reproduced as podcasts.
The CompUSA brand, brought back out of bankruptcy last year by Systemax Inc., continues to operate stores in Florida, Texas and North Carolina.
