Confidence in Tech Surges
The CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) jumped ahead of the holidays, rising 7.3 points to 94.3, the Consumer Electronics Association said Tuesday.
“Strong sentiment toward technology spending this month suggests tech will perform well during the year’s biggest shopping weekend,” Shawn DuBravac, Ph.D., chief economist, CEA, said as part of the announcement. “Consumers appear to have held off slightly on tech purchases in October in preparation for holiday shopping, including Black Friday.”
CEA added that "consumer sentiment toward the overall economy decreased slightly in November."
