Connecticut Recycling Regs Would Pass the Buck to Manufacturers
Connecticut is considering new regulations that would create an e-waste recycling program- and give CE manufacturers the bill.
According to the Hartford Courant the regulations, haulers appointed by the state would be paid by manufacturers. The program, which covers TVs, computers, monitors and more, is supported by Gov. Jodi Rell. It is similar to programs in effect in six states, including California.
Reached for comment by the paper, CEA's Parker Brugge said the organization prefers federal solutions to e-recycling.
