CEA Sees 3 Percent Gain in Updated Forecast
The Consumer Electronics Association Thursday will update its forecast for U.S. gadget sales this year, projecting that revenue in the industry will rise 3 percent this year, the Wall Street Journal reported.
CEA had predicted a 0.6 percent increase during CES in January. The industry posted a 6.5 percent decline in 2009.
The industry group found that PCs will overtake TVs as the top revenue category within CE, posting 23 percent growth, while mobile phones are seen growing 5 percent. TV sales are projected by CEA to drop 2.5 percent in 2010.
