Samsung recently began focusing on six specific markets: LA, NY, Boston, Seattle, San Antonio and Salt Lake City, overlapping this with an ethnic market plan targeting the Hispanic and Korean consumer. These programs includes a current multi-level effort with MovieFone (Samsung's second in three years) which runs through January 14, 1999, to allow callers to the nation's largest movie guide and ticketing service to enter the Samsung 'Winter Vision' Sweepstakes and win a projection TV, Vision-Plus TV, DVD player, VCR or microwave oven. Radio promotions in each market will also include a sweepstakes, while tying in dealers in each area.
The promotions we're doing now and continue to do over the next year will raise the perception of the Samsung name, and each promotion we put together will have an element that brings the consumer into the dealer's store.
