5) Barring lowering prices, what can a retailer do to help your business?
Lower prices don't help us. I don't think it helps any retailer or manufacturer. Retailers look at their margin in terms of percentages. I think retailers have to look at their margins in terms of dollars. When the day is said and done, what matters is how many profit dollars are in your pocket; you can't pay the rent with a percentage.
We pride ourselves in building value into the product. I think retailers need to sell the features of products because the consumer is willing to pay for meaningful features. There are things other than price that consumers are looking for: having best service, good delivery, product and inventory and knowledgeable sales people.
