Consumer Interest Seen in 3D Cameras
Consumers have quite a bit of interest in nascent 3D digital camera technology, with nearly one fourth of self-described digital imaging enthusiasts describing themselves as "likely" to purchase such a camera.
That's according to a study, "3D Digital Imaging: Consumer Perceptions of this Emerging Technology," released Thursday by CEA. Also, one in ten asked said they would purchase a 3D camcorder in the next year.
“Understanding how consumers intend to use 3D cameras is an important factor in driving purchase interest,” Chris Ely, manager of industry analysis at CEA, said in a statement. “Consumers see a clear distinction in how they plan to use a 3D camera versus a traditional camera.”
