Control4 Smart Home OS 3 Supports MQA Technology
Following up on the arrival of Smart Home OS 3 last week, Control4 has now entered into an exciting new partnership with MQA (Master Quality Authenticated). Control4 has officially become the first home automation platform to support MQA’s award-winning technology to enhance the smart home experience.
Through their partnership with TIDAL, an artist-owned global music streaming and entertainment platform, MQA aims to capture authentic sound that resembles an original studio performance. Now integrated with Control4 OS 3, MQA is bringing this award-winning sound to homeowners in a Control4 Smart Home.
“As a leading specialist in the home automation market, Control4 is simplifying the daily lives of music lovers who want a streamlined, multi-room listening experience,” said Bob Stuart, Founder and CTO of MQA. “We’re proud to collaborate with Control4 and the growing global ecosystem of partners who believe everyone deserves to hear their favorite music in its original master quality.”
The UK-based private company is licensed by labels, music services, and hardware manufacturers worldwide and is certified by the RIAA. Their master MQA file is fully authenticated while small enough to stream and download. It’s also backwards compatible so users can enjoy MQA music on any device.
MQA technology is available worldwide for new and legacy systems using Control4’s EA Series controllers and Triad audio speakers and equipment. MQA music can be streamed on the TIDAL app, which also natively integrates with Control4.
“Entertainment is a key feature of the Control4 Smart Home, and we support a variety of music services, so adding MQA was a natural fit to offer more better-than-CD quality options for our customers and audio enthusiasts,” said Control4 VP Business & Corporate Development Noel Gouff. “Control4 Smart Home OS 3 brings users new ways to launch and adjust their music, and it’s easy to start listening to their MQA library from their smartphone, touch screen, or TV remote, even making it a “Favorite” in key rooms in the home.”
