The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) buying group, in wake of the escalating coronavirus pandemic, has cancelled its Spring Conference, which was slated to take place April 6-8 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
The decision was reached by the group’s Board of Directors after the State of Florida’s declaration of a public health emergency due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus.
It was also based on what the statement said was “careful consideration of the recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and federal, state and local health authorities.”
HTSA further reported that all Spring Conference room bookings would be automatically cancelled.
The HTSA Fall Conference, currently planned for Oct. 27-29 in Dallas, Texas, is expected to take place as scheduled, the statement said.
