Costco Tightens Return Policy
Saying that its liberal return policy was costing them millions every year, the warehouse wholesaler Costco has announced it will put a time limit on customers seeking to return electronic items for cash.
Previously, there was no limit to how long customers could hold such items before returning them. Some were even known to buy an item, keep it for years, and then return it in exchange for an upgrade once one was available. But now, Costco has put a 90-day limit on the amount of time before an item can be returned.
The company will also attempt to make it up to their members-only customers by extending warranties on TVs and computers, and adding additional technical support.
